The Medical Department is a sciences based division that helps bring awareness and keep members aware of possible hazards during away missions and events. Two sub-departments within this department include Psychological Services and Spiritual Services. Some responsibilities for this department are:

• Provide medical first aid up to the individual's skill and training 
• Insure that the wallet IDs have accurate medical data for each crew member on away missions
• Assist emergency medical personnel as requested
• Help coordinate and liaison with venues about any needs for crew members who require special aid – i.e. Wheel chairs, working animals, a sensory safe location
• Write articles for the ship newsletter

Examples of positions available in this department are Nurse, Doctor, Field Medic, Medical Assistant, and Veterinary Specialist.

Note: It is highly recommended that anyone in this capacity have training in CPR, First Aid, or both. It is also recommended that members of this department join STARFLEET Medical.  It is expected and required that all members of this department defer to professional paramedics, nurses, doctors, and other trained and certified medical personnel at all times.

The Chief Medical Officer of the USS Alan Turing is Lieutenant M'Rau/Tom Haidek (picture and bio coming soon.) until someone steps forward wanting the position.  In order to hold this position, you are required to be compliant with SFDPP 101, 102 and the yearly re-certification of SFDPP, as well as the completion of the OCC and OTS within STARFLEET Academy.
