The Operations Officer is the OIC of the Operations Division.  They work with the Department Chiefs, keeping an overall record of the activities of the members of their division which merit consideration when awards and promotions are in order;  implement projects, events, and decisions that affect their department; submit a monthly report regarding significant accomplishments, personnel changes, or other important information; submit any assigned articles for the ship newsletter; and act as the first point of contact in the chain of command for crew members within their department. The Operations Officer is required to have their SFDPP certification as well as OTS and OCC courses completed.

Aboard the USS Alan Turing, the Operations Officer position is currently open.  To hold this position, they are required to be compliant with SFDPP 101, 102 and the yearly re-certification of SFDPP, as well as the completion of the OCC and OTS within STARFLEET Academy.
