Logging into STARFLEET Academy/STARFLEET Marine Corps Academy

The Academy has two locations for students to take courses - STARFLEET Academy (SFA) and STARFLEET Marine Corps Academy (SFMCA).  The following is to offer a brief overview to help you on your educational career.  A very important thing to remember about the Academies, do not take more than five courses out of a particular college at a time.  Directors within the Colleges are volunteers, like you they work and have lives outside of SFI.  They are responsible for courses for more than just your courses.

The automated system is called the QAM, or Quiz Activity Module.  If the grade isn’t recorded a week after you (and the Director) receive your result by email, email the Director with a copy of your QAM results. Very occasionally, the Director does not get a copy.  If after two weeks you do not hear from the Director of the College the course was taken, send a second email to the Director with a CC to the Dean of the Institute  the College is under.  When emailing about a course, remember to have your name, SCC#, course title, the date you took the course and it was graded by the system, and dates of your previous inquiries.

If you emailed in a PDF exam, the times are two weeks once the exam is emailed to the College Director.  The rest is as above.

This is the first page of STARFLEET Educational Services and where you will come to when you visit https://es.sfi.org From here, you will have access to any news and job openings within Educational Services.  You also have access to the contacts feature.

On the menu at top, there are two important features:  Moodle Courses and Information PDFs.  The Information PDFs tab will show you how to take a course and give you an orientation PDF giving details of the rules governing the Academies as well as useful information on grades, errors in courses, and how to contact director about the grades.

Moodle Courses will take you to the sign in for entering the main Academy page.

When you click on the Moodle Courses button, it will take you to this screen.  If you have already registered with the Academy and have been cleared, this is where you will go to log into the Academy.

If you have not registered with the Academy, you will scroll down in order to create an account.  It will take a few days for this to be an active account as they will have to manually add you into the system once they have verified your membership.  Please make sure that the name you register with the Academy is the same as the one that is registered in the database at https://db.sfi.org  This is the only way they know that you are fully you.

If you have not heard back from the Academy after seven days, contact the Academy's technical services via: sfawebmaster(at)sfi.org.  Explain when you created the new account, your SCC#, your name, and ask politely what you need to do next.

While STARFLEET International is very supportive of our cadet members, they will still have to have permission from their parent or guardian in order to make an account to take courses.

This is an edited version of the first screen you will see when you log in.  One item you will want to set up is your profile.  It gives the Directors, and Deans, a little more information about you.

From here, you can check on the list of courses you have active, ones you have taken, you can go to either academy, and you can see who is online.

These are the institutes of STARFLEET Academy.  From here, you will be able to go into various subjects, pulling up the Colleges within and the courses there.  Each Institute has a Dean, each College has a Director.  Both often have Deputies, or assistants.  They will always been listed on an exam as well as the Institute/College, as well as their email when you hover your mouse over their name.

These are the Institutes of STARFLEET Marine Corps Academy.  As with the SFA, you will be able to find the various colleges within, as well as contacts for the Deans and Directors.
