SFI Command Structure
Commander, STARFLEET (CS): Fleet Admiral David Nottage III
The Commander, STARFLEET (CS) serves as the corporate President of STARFLEET and chairman of the Admiralty Board, which is the corporate Board of Directors. The CS is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Fleet, as well as representing the Fleet in an official capacity to other organizations and the general public.
All representatives of STARFLEET holding office in any appointed or elected capacity are ultimately responsible to, as well as, report to the CS or their designee. The CS is charged with the financial well-being of STARFLEET. They are the only member of the Admiralty Board with the authority to disburse Fleet funds on the behalf of the organization.
The CS appoints the STARFLEET Treasurer and other assistants to perform necessary bookkeeping and budgetary duties. They are also responsible for securing an annual financial review of Fleet funds (at Fleet expense) and making the results of such an audit available to the membership. The CS is elected by the general membership to serve non-consecutive three-year terms of office.
Vice-Commander, STARFLEET (VCS): Admiral Ryan Case
The Vice Commander, STARFLEET (VCS) is the second in command of STARFLEET and serves as the non-profit corporation’s Vice-President and Secretary. The VCS is responsible for assuming the responsibilities of the Commander, STARFLEET in their absence, and for representing the CS to the members of the association, other organizations, and the general public.
The Departments in the office of the VCS help with enhancing the STARFLEET experience of its members. The VCS is also tasked with doing the marketing and advertising for STARFLEET.

STARFLEET Operations: Admiral Johnathon "Gumby" Simmons
The Chief of Operations is responsible for the overall smooth operation of the ships of the Fleet. The Chief of Operations collects reports from all Regional Coordinators and Chapter Commanding Officers. Operations is also responsible for the commissioning and decommissioning of chapters and assisting members and chapters with operational programs. The Operations department also overseas Shakedown Operations, as well as generating the Vessel Registry.
STARFLEET Communications: Admiral Lucy Ferron Franck
The primary task for the Office of Communications is keeping the general membership informed about Fleet happenings. While publication and distribution of the quarterly newsletter, the Communique, is the most recognized project of Communications, it is only a part of what Communications oversees. From mailing lists to social media presence, the Communications department is responsible for getting information out.
STARFLEET Educational Services: Lieutenant General TJ Allen, MACO
The Chief of Educational Services heads up the education branch of STARFLEET and is also STARFLEET’s Data Protection Officer. There are two campuses; STARFLEET Academy (SFA) and the STARFLEET Marine Academy (SFMCA). Each of these campuses offer a wide variety of courses ranging from testing trivial knowledge of the Star Trek universe to expanding general knowledge about the world around us. Courses designed to help build practical skills can be found here as well.
All of Academy and its campuses are offered exclusively to the members of STARFLEET and are free of charge for any course taken that is available through email or as part of the online Moodle program. Students wishing to have course materials/graduation certificates sent via post are asked to pay a minimal fee to cover printing/shipping expenses.
STARFLEET Information Services: Commodore Erin Poole
Information Services (Info-Serv) manages the information technology infrastructure of STARFLEET, its departments and projects. In addition, all membership related functions exist within Info-Serv. Info-Serv is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and at least oversight of all of STARFLEET’s web presence. STARFLEET’s first official website went online in 1994. Since then, as the Internet technology has evolved, so has STARFLEET’s presence in this online world.
As you will see, Info-Serv has a handful of specialized teams working to provide the best resources, and technologies possible to all. Each team is critically important in achieving an excellent well rounded set of tools not only for our membership, for prospective members as well. A team mindset is core to everything within Info-Serv, because not only does each Info-Serv team interact with each other, they also interact on some level with every single department in STARFLEET.
STARFLEET Finance: Commodore Dave Lowry
The Finance Office is responsible for the general oversight of all financial matters, corporate federal and state compliance, and taxation. The Finance Office maintains funds in various accounts from the General Operating Fund, Academy, Scholarships, the Marine Corps, and the International Conference which serves as our corporate annual business meeting.
STARFLEET Member Services: Admiral Bran Stimpson
The Chief of Membership Services is responsible for the overall growth and retention of STARFLEET members. The Chief of Membership Services oversees the following areas; Membership Onboarding, Member Orientation, Member Helpdesk, Member Volunteer Resources, Recognition, Recruitment and Retention. The Membership Services department is also responsible for assisting chapters and regions with new member first contact; mentoring; member programming; and recruitment and retention initiatives.
